On Monday, I got to enjoy some sunshine with this rowdy bunch! These families reunited in Baltimore just for the weekend and I'm honored that they glad they came across my Facebook page. We squeezed in a Mini Session near their AirBnb to capture the memory of these families being all together in Maryland. We enjoyed a beautiful evening at Canton Waterfront Park and they got out of town before this crappy week of weather started. Happy to be a part of capturing these memories!
It was a true honor to photograph Brandon's graduation photos! I got to see The Naval Academy from a new perspective and spend time with two of the most genuine people I know. Graduation Sessions always spark a bit of nostalgia in me. My college years were some of the most special memories that I have in my life. This session felt a bit more full circle considering Brandon will be serving as a United States Marine after graduation. I could relate to where Brandon and Samantha have been and also to what is on the horizon for them as they enter the months ahead. Wishing them both the best of luck and sending all of my prayers! On another note... How adorable are they?!
I meannnnnn come on! This family is the absolute CUTEST! It was such a pleasure meeting Sharon, KJ and their daughter, Mila this past weekend. These cuties live in the same neighborhood as some of my other clients, so we felt like we already knew each other when we met. I just love that! While we adventured around Centennial Park, we joked about getting everyone together for a huge group session. But I actually think it's a fantastic idea! Your move, Fieldstone friends!
This past weekend was full of the adventurous Spring Session's that I've been waiting for! We are back to barefoot sessions in the woods and my wanderlust senses are tingling big time. I was honored to capture Walton and his brothers for his first birthday cake smash on this perfectly golden afternoon! Work just doesn't feel like work when you get to spend it encouraging kiddos to play in the grass and eat cake on a tree stump.
Okay, so I think I found my new favorite location in Maryland! Seriously though, a Mini Session was NOT enough time for Keely and I to explore last weekend! We were both in awe adventuring around Patapsco Valley State Park for her headshots and we were already talking about coming back in the future. If it wasn't for her gown being brand new, we would've been hiking into the wilderness (any takers?!) I had so much fun with this talented girl as she sang in the forrest and we got to know eachother. It was super enchanting and I love meeting other artists who are chasing their dreams. This session was a great way to kick off a busy weekend! It got me feeling inspired!
So guys, this location is legit 9 minutes from my house but somehow I have never shot a session here.... Like, what?! I'm still mind blown that I haven't utilized this local awesomeness, but anywhoooo, I had so much fun exploring this spot with this precious fam and can't wait to return in the future! The Fenton Family was so genuine and their children were just beaming with sweetness and personality. The boys' matching t-shirts melted my heart and Jessica & Johnny's love made my soul smile. Mini sessions like these are my absolute favorite!
So I learned a few things last Friday. 1. Georgetown is even more gorgeous than I realized. It feels so regal on their campus and their classrooms are inside buildings that look like gothic cathedrals and churches! 2. Their slogan is "Hoya Saxa!" which translates into "What Rocks!" The name proved popular and the term "Hoyas" was eventually adopted for all Georgetown teams. 3. Their students (at least the ones I met) are down to earth, humble people who are enthusiastic about the past, present and future and I am honored that I got to spend time with them. 4. I realized how badly I REALLLLLLY miss Penn State. Being at Georgetown made me SUPER nostalgic for the hustle and bustle that happens on a college campus on beautiful Spring day. This session was too much fun! Can't wait for more Grad Sessions this year!
I had so much fun exploring Downtown Annapolis with this sweet soul this week! I am so thankful that my job introduces me to so many amazing people. Lauren's story warms my heart and definitely hits close to home. She is a freelance vocalist striving to make her dreams come true in D.C. while simultaneously trying to balance her social life. We could've chatted for hours, but I truly feel like we got to know each other in the short time we spent together during her Mini Session. Wishing her the best of luck in her career and upcoming adventures! Rooting for this girl!
I have been SO antsy lately to capture a "She Said Yes!" moment, so I was ecstatic when Jordan reached out to me about photographing his proposal to Roxanna in a stunning Botanical Garden outside of D.C.! This morning, I woke up with butterflies because proposals are of course always exciting, but also because this was my first time being front row for an engagement! I loved being a part of this intimate memory for these two cuties, and I'm super thankful that they trusted me to capture their story! Congrats, Jordan + Roxanna!
My heart melted too many times to count during the Sloan Family's snuggly in-home session this afternoon. There is something so very special about being invited to photograph people under the comfort of their own residence. It is so fun to see them open up and let their personalities come alive in front of me and my camera. I always feel like I get a little sneak peak into my client's lives, but in-home sessions are on another level. I am always humbled by their trust in me to capture the essence of their story. I was smiling out the door after this one! :)
