I have been SO antsy lately to capture a "She Said Yes!" moment, so I was ecstatic when Jordan reached out to me about photographing his proposal to Roxanna in a stunning Botanical Garden outside of D.C.! This morning, I woke up with butterflies because proposals are of course always exciting, but also because this was my first time being front row for an engagement! I loved being a part of this intimate memory for these two cuties, and I'm super thankful that they trusted me to capture their story! Congrats, Jordan + Roxanna!
My heart melted too many times to count during the Sloan Family's snuggly in-home session this afternoon. There is something so very special about being invited to photograph people under the comfort of their own residence. It is so fun to see them open up and let their personalities come alive in front of me and my camera. I always feel like I get a little sneak peak into my client's lives, but in-home sessions are on another level. I am always humbled by their trust in me to capture the essence of their story. I was smiling out the door after this one! :)
In home sessions are something special. It is such an honor to be invited into my client's homes and be able to get to know them on a more intimate, personal level. This Sibling Session was so precious and reminded me how much fun it is to let the personalities of kids shine through the photographs. Back in the day, I used to try to control the scene and direct certain poses but I have learned that the best photos come out by letting the session be an experience instead of an appointment. These moments are raw, real and make my heart smile. Welcome to the world, Baby Leo!
This Mini Session was another one of my all-time favorites. Not only did I get to reunite with a dear friend, but in between dancing around barefoot, we reminisced about our cheer days together, listened to worship music, and talked about God’s glorious plan. It was such an honor to capture this spiritual, athletic session with this genuine, sweet lady. Love you Linds!
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to photograph this intimate reception for Michelle and Neal's wedding! Their ceremony was actually this past Fall, but I was honored to be invited to capture the love between this new family bond before their official celebration. I'm always amazed by how connected I feel to my clients after my sessions with them. Even if it's only for an hour, there is something so darn special about being present for emotional moments like this. A big congrats to these Newlyweds!
